In our countdown of the weirdest casino-themed prop bets and challenges, 48-hour lunging, bathroom living, and fearful bungee jumps feature.
For centuries, prop bets and games went hand in hand.
But while poker and sports betting have had crazy challenges for money, not so many have centered around the 바카라사이트 and 홀덤사이트.
Let’s take a closer look at those times when a real money challenge has become the setting for the 바카라사이트 itself.
5. Amarillo Slim’s daring ride on horseback
WHEN: The 40’s
AND WHERE: Las Vegas
BET AMOUNT: unknown
‘Amarillo’ Slim Preston was a legendary gambler and poker player from Las Vegas. The odds are that Amarillo Slim would bet on it if there was something to bet on.
Outrageous prop bets have been the calling card for Slim.
He once challenged Evel Knievel’s daredevil stunt biker to a round of golf. While that was normal enough, the caveat was that hammers had to be used as golf clubs by both players.
The bet was won by Slim.
His craziest bet involved the racehorse champion, Seabiscuit. He was convinced that he could outsprint the thoroughbred for over 100 yards as a keen runner.
Slim had an edge, like all good prop bettors – he had chosen a 50-yard racecourse outside a casino in 바카라사이트.
The length of the track meant that in order to complete the final 50 yards, Seabiscuit and Jockey had to reach the end and turn around.
Slim was well on his way to winning the race during the time it took the jockey to turn around.
Fourth ##. The satellite bet on Skylab crashes down
WHEN: in 1979
WHERE: Las Vegas, El Cortez
BET AMOUNT: $10,000
El Cortez hotel and casino in Las 바카라사이트 is one of the quainter Downtown establishments, but over the years, its legendary long-time owner Jackie Gaughan has added a lot of color.
In 1979, when it was due for re-entry that year, Gaughan took bets on where the United States space station, Skylab, would crash down to earth.
He even made a 10,000/1 bet that Skylab’s remains would land in his own casino.
Ultimately, as the space station disintegrated and landed somewhere in Australia, gamblers – and Gaughan himself – were wide of the mark.
3. Living in the bathroom pays off for Jay Kwik
WHEN: in 2008
WHERE: Las Vegas Bellagio
BET AMOUNT: $250,000
Las Vegas famously boasts some of the world’s most luxurious hotel rooms and amenities. But could you live for a month in a Vegas bathroom to win a bet?
This is what Jay Kwik did when, for 30 days, he accepted a bet to live in a bathroom at the Bellagio casino.
Friend Andrew Robl put the cash up, but Robl paid $40,000 to buy his way out of the $250k bet several days early, just as it looked as if Kwik would pull it off.
2. For a scary prop, Jeff Gross hits the Stratosphere for
BY WHEN: 2013
WHERE: Las Vegas, The Stratosphere
BET AMOUNT: Six Figures
This is a bet from another poker player, using one of the legendary casinos of Las Vegas as a base point this time.
Famously suffering from vertigo, American pro Jeff Gross accepted a bet in 2013 that he would not bungee jump off the top of the 1.149-ft Stratosphere Tower.
Gross was holding his nerve and winning his bet.
1. Antonio Esfandiari lunges to disqualify himself
WHEN: from 2016
WHERE: Resort Atlantis, Bahamas
BET AMOUNT: $50,000
Antonio Esfandiari is recognized as one of the greatest poker players ever in America, but from time to time he also enjoys a crazy prop bet.
Esfandiari took a prop bet in 2016 from infamous gambler and hedge fund manager Bill Perkins, requiring the player to perform lunges for 48 hours straight everywhere he went.
Esfandiari was in desperate need of a toilet after lunging his way round a Caribbean casino.
‘The Magician’ relieved himself while playing poker in too much pain to move and instantly earned himself a disqualification from his tournament.
Esfandiari won the bet, despite being out of the tournament, and donated his $50,000 winnings to charity.
“There is a limit to how far you should go, and in this case I failed,” he said shortly afterward.
